Growing up away from my parents and grandparents’ hometown left me with a vague memory of the roots of my family history. I recall being in a small village with bamboo, some other unknown vegetation, dark moun- tains with just a few lights here and there, little rabbit friends who com- forted me, weird rituals about putting my deciduous teeth up high, and more.
After returning home last summer, these fragmented memory pieces were assembled to form a year calendar. This self-initiated illustration project looks into the vague memory of childhood and its relationship with one’s heritage.
